AEVA LIDAR tests
On April 25th, 2022, the first tests were carried out with the AEVA LIDAR for vehicle characterization developments within the Movilidad 2030 project. During these tests, together with the UPM, the capabilities of this LIDAR were tested, so that it can detect and position a vehicle in its corresponding lane, to subsequently classify it taking into account its volume (length, height and width), in addition to calculating its speed.
This work has served as a proof of concept for the future deployment of the Validation and Evaluation Scenario (EVE) of the project, which will try to facilitate the management of access to areas of special protection such as Low Emission Zones (LEZ), as well as to estimate the carbon footprint per passenger.
