E-Valet Parking
The application of Valet Parking systems will facilitate the premature achievement of the goals set in terms of mobility sustainability. This system allows an autonomous vehicle to search for parking, drive and perform parking maneuvers without human interaction. The study of the environmental and social impact of implementing a Valet Parking system can demonstrate the potential of the autonomous vehicle from a less researched point of view.
This scenario will evaluate how to facilitate the driver/passenger experience with a Valet Parking system, which allows for the parking of an automated vehicle in a specific environment and in an autonomous manner. In this parking environment, an autonomous vehicle, through communication with the sensorized infrastructure will access a free parking space autonomously, where once confirmed that there is a free space, the vehicle will perform the parking maneuver autonomously.
The studies are planned to be conducted in two parking scenarios, both in an indoor environment (more controlled) and in an outdoor environment (more random and unpredictable). This scenario will be complemented in such a way that the infrastructure will offer the autonomous vehicle different parking locations, allowing it to decide where to go according it its needs, trying to reduce travel times due to the search for parking.
